About Nordex USA, Inc.

The Nordex Group of Companies is one of the leading wind turbine manufacturers used to generate electricity in the world. The Company was launched in 1985, before the international demand for wind turbines increased during the first half of the nineties. Nordex also designs wind farms and offers maintenance services. Its products include both onshore and offshore turbines. Nordex has installed more than 3,000 wind turbines around the world. European sales, in countries other than Germany, account for about 95% of its revenue. The Company is expanding in Asia and North America, has established production facilities for both, nacelle assembly and rotor blade manufacturing, in China, and is currently increasing its growth with production facilities in Jonesboro, Arkansas, in the United States.

Nordex Aktiengesellschaft, a USD 1.5 Billion public company listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange in Germany, is Nordex USA, Inc.’s direct parent; its task is to control and coordinate the activities of its subsidiaries, which include Nordex Energy GmbH and other subsidiaries mainly in Europe. From the outset, Nordex AG focused on large, powerful turbines; the Company installed the largest series wind turbine in the world at the time and consistently seizes development opportunities in a market that will continue to grow.

Nordex, who set new standards with several innovative products, is focussing on wind turbines of the multi-megawatt class. This segment has the most important growth within this industry, part of the renewable energy sector, a market which offers long-term solid growth particularly on an international level.

Wind turbines of the type N80/2500 kW, N90/2500 kW and N100/2500 kW are the most powerful serial wind turbines for all wind categories with the longest track record currently on the market. On a global basis, Nordex employs approximately 2,250 employees, of which around 1,500 employees are employed in Germany, its home market. The Company is present in 18 countries worldwide with its own affiliates or by means of representative offices outside Europe, in particular focusing on the North American and the Chinese market.

The Company has set up its US organization, Nordex USA, Inc., in the course of 2008 and first half of 2009 in the context of a re-entry to the US market and has started the construction of a wind turbine nacelle assembly plant in Jonesboro, Arkansas, in July 2009. The US headquarters is based in Chicago, Illinois. In a second step a rotor blade manufacturing plant is expected to become operational also in Jonesboro, Arkansas, in the second half of 2012. This includes the localization of component procurement from US suppliers. Currently Nordex USA, Inc. employs around 50 persons in the US; with the start-up of production in the course of 2010 the headcount is expected to increase to around 180 in the US and with the rotor blade manufacturing facility towards a headcount in excess of 800.

Nordex USA, Inc.’s goal is to carry on the Company’s successes in the development and building of reliable machines, operating with ever-increasing efficiency, which is to the advantage of the environment and its customers, as well as to uphold the product quality and safety standards for which the Nordex Group of Companies is well renowned.
