- Position: Project Development Manager
As Project Development Manager, you will be responsible for the development of wind farm projects. PDM will work in coordination with Development Team to build a pipeline of projects in the US. PDM is responsible for all aspects of wind project development, from site selection to successful completion of financing and due diligence. Everyday tasks include working to obtain right-of-way and other easements, implementing collection of wind data and analysis, managing local permitting issues and interconnection procedures, managing third party consultants on environmental permitting, and managing all other aspects of wind farm project development work. PDM will work in collaboration with other colleagues regarding off-take power, project modeling, project proposals, arrangements for finance, construction operation, and other matters.

§ Nordex USA, Inc.’s Headquarters, located in Chicago, Illinois.
§ Regular travel throughout the United States.
Reports To
§ Director of Project Management, Development
Responsibilities
§ Identify prospective projects with suitable wind resource and electric transmission access
§ Establish and manage relationships with officials, regulators, and community leaders to support project development
§ Manage environmental studies and permitting processes
§ Support financial analysis and modeling of wind project site
§ Develop and manage project development budgets
§ Obtain land surface rights to design, permit, construct, operate, and maintain wind power projects
§ Monitor System Impact, Short Circuit, Stability and System Upgrade studies performed by transmission providers and third parties
§ Negotiate tax agreements and abatements
§ Participate in Power Purchase Agreement and interconnect negotiations
§ Work with internal resources, such as Legal, Engineering, and Energy Assessment teams
§ Complete reports about pipeline updates, Progress MW updates, and other related reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
§ Remain up-to-date on changing competition and regulatory conditions
Education/Qualifications
§ Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or related field
§ Minimum 5 years project development experience, with an emphasis on technical engineering, project planning, or wind farm project sites
§ Proven utility or industry experience that includes a track record of successful negotiation skills relating to project development
§ Familiar with standard wind project GIS software (WindPRO, WasP, Arcview)
§ Experience overseeing the full life cycle of a project
§ Basic knowledge and appreciation of the technical, commercial and political aspects driving the wind industry
§ Entrepreneurial drive with ability to work independently
§ Excellent communication and organizational skills
Possess a valid USA Drivers License
