Based in East Central Scotland, Eden Scott’s client is a well known and highly reputable global business in the renewable energy community. They have experienced serious growth over the last few years, and continue to grow both commercially and in terms of headcount. They are now looking to make the key appointment of a Grid Connection Analyst.

Reporting to the Managing Director you will be our client’s primary contact with Grid Operators and will be responsible for providing expert analysis of grid requirements and influence grid codes to improve market capabilities. Some of your responsibilities will include:

· Networking and influence of grid codes through work in national panels to represent company interests.

· Active tracking of long term grid code trends and national stability studies to ensure knowledge is gained about the direction the national grid are taking.

· Technical cooperation and information exchange with the network operators to ensure their requirements for information are being met.

· Presentation and discussion of technology with grid operators to demonstrate competence and give the grid operators the confidence in our client’s solutions.

· Analysis and documentation of grid requirements in order that intelligence is gained for the Research & Development Department and products are developed to meet future market requirements.

· Provide support during project specific negotiations with network operators and clients to ensure requirements are met.

· Provide expertise and support for specific Design Studies and Reports for the delivery of projects to National Grid

The successful candidate is educated to degree calibre in electrical engineering. You will have proven technical experience typically in the field of power/energy electrical engineering. We would be especially keen to hear from candidates with power grid modelling experience, and knowledge of wind turbine technology and electrical grids. Knowledge of, and participation in, grid stability studies would be highly advantageous, and previous experience working with grid connection of power plants and project management is essential. The highly client facing nature of this role means you will have significant commercial and customer relations experience
