Position: Principle Wind Farm Engineer
Salary: £60,000/yr

This leading Engineering consultancy who have a presence across the UK and Europe are at the forefront of the growing Renewable Energy market. With an interested in developing some of the nations flagship Wind Farm projects. Reporting to the Business Unit Manager for Renewable Energy you will assume the role as Principle Wind Energy Engineer and be responsible for:

Acting as Lead designer on small and medium sized projects
Working in a team environment covering Feasibility / Optioneering studies
Responsible for planning and managing the delivery of the design elements of the project
Technical lead in the areas of energy yield assessment, turbine layout optimisation and performance. This will include in-house modelling using propriety wind farm modelling packages as well as review of other consultants wind modelling results.
Work with Government regulatory bodies and understand the UK regulations regarding Wind Farm planning and construction.
Have a understanding of the configuration of Transmission and Distribution networks and how Wind Farms are connected
Have a detailed knowledge of Generation characteristics of Wind Turbines

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

BEng in a related Engineering degree Mech/Elec/Environmental
MSc in a Renewable Energy topic
Extensive post-graduate experience in the renewable energy sector
Have a recognised professional qualification and membership of Energy Institute
Experience of the management of smaller projects, both financially and technically.
Experience in design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment, construction supervision and administration.
Demonstrable experience in project planning and tracking via MS Project. Commercial understanding of Wind Turbine/Farm project lifecycle and consultant’s various roles within that lifecycle. Familiarity with software packages such as MS Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD etc. Initial site identification/wind analysis software.
