Currently our client in Germany, who is a leading Operator and Constructor of Off shore Wind Farms is looking for an experienced EOS & Grid Connection Engineer.
The project has secured Budget and the first years of the project are onshore office based, most likely the last year of the contract there will be offshore activities in a rotation schedule.
Currently the activities are based on 5 days a week full time onsite presence.
EOS & Grid Connection Engineer
Responsibilities
- Leading the electrical part of the turn key offshore substation
- Leading technical negotiations with contractors, ventors and partners and develop the technical specification
- Management of the interface to transmission system operator (TSO)
- Leading technical negotiations with TSO and partners to develop the technical part for an envisaged grid connection contract
- Leading grid compliance studies (static and dynamic models)
- Interface management to all packages
- Definition of technical key requirements of technical specifications
- Add overall project management requirements such as QA, expediting, cost control, tracking/negotiation of claims etc. as appropriate
- Approval of design in accordance with project specific required applicable codes, norms, internal standards, standards and regulatory requirements.
2.3.2 Qualifications
- Electrical engineer with good knowledge in low, medium and high voltage and control/protection technology
- Project management skills including contract management
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project etc.)
- Experience in wind energy business
- High HSE awareness
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and decision making skills
- Flexibility, good physical fitness and willingness to travel required
- Experience in quality management
- Good ability to liaise with other departments/clients where necessary
- Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively in English and German
