Taylor Hopkinsons client is an international renewable energy consultancy working with a broad range of technologies including wind, solar, and marine. Owing to continued growth and high demand for its services, the company is now seeking to recruit a suitable candidate to lead the Implementation Team in the expanding Head Office.

The role

  • Responsibility for the delivery of multi-disciplinary Technical Advisor projects to time, budget and client satisfaction
  • Line management of a team of project managers and project engineers
  • Training, mentoring and performance development of team members
  • Co-ordination of the development and construction of renewable energy consulting projects in the UK and overseas
  • Co-ordination and leadership of multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Reporting on projects internally and to clients - reviewing reports and other work
  • Managing subcontracted consultants where required for specific projects
  • Supporting business development activities such as preparing project proposals and meeting potential clients
  • Continuously monitoring work to ensure QSE compliance
  • Conducting project site visits in the UK and overseas

The requirements

  • Degree qualification in an engineering discipline or similar
  • Significant postgraduate experience and a proven track record in project engineering / project management
  • Experience of  development and construction of complex engineering projects
  • Knowledge of project management techniques including program/budget/risk management
  • Ability to line-manage highly-skilled people
  • Ability to produce and review high quality reports to predefined deadlines
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work
  • Strong client-facing skills and confident communicator with smart appearance
  • A high level of problem solving ability and initiative
  • Driving licence valid for use in the UK
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Word and Excel
  • Demonstrable interest in renewable energy and sustainability
  • Willingness to travel in the UK and internationally
  • Chartered status is desirable
  • Language skills would be an advantage
  • Experience with MS Project and Project Management qualifications also desirable
  • Experience of the development and construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects is a distinct advantage
  • Experience of procurement, contracting and financial close process for utility-scale (preferably renewable energy) projects
  • Strong commercial skills with experience of high value contract management
  • Management of site contractors in the construction and energy sector
  • Experience of renewable energy industry
