Today RWE npower renewables operates over 400MW of wind capacity which is set to grow rapidly over the next few years and beyond. The Operations and Asset Management team is responsible for operating, maintaining and maximising the value of these assets.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Engineer to work in our southern region. The Operations Engineer has responsibility for the safe and effective operation of a number of wind farms within a regional portfolio; today each regional portfolio comprises approximately 200MW with a turnover of over £40m.
The Operations Engineer is accountable for all aspects of operations and maintenance of the onshore wind farm fleet with a high focus on safety, availability and commercial awareness. The Operations Engineer has budget responsibility for the wind farms under their direct responsibility and significant influence in setting the O&M strategy to deliver the long term performance of assets in the portfolio.
The engineer must actively embrace change and adapt strategies to manage the growing portfolio. The job involves direct responsibility for representing O&M interests during major project development, and therefore strong influencing skills coupled with a sound knowledge of the wind business are essential.
