Electrical Engineer - Charlottesville Virginia USA

My Client is a leading wind energy development company pursuing projects throughout North America. They have developed over $10 billion in operating wind facilities as well as building a national pipeline of over 5,100 megawatts. They have been labelled as one of the fastest growing companies within the wind energy industry.

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President of construction, the successful candidate will be responsible for the base design of all electrical aspects of wind farms

Responsibilities:-
Initial design for transmission lines, collection systems and the substation
Manage electrical design consultants
Perform electrical anaysis of turbine performance identifying areas for improvement
Support project construction management teams
Provide support to the procurment team with regards to maintiaitng relationships with equipment vendors

Education:-
Minimum BSC Electrical Engineering

Core Requirements:-
A minimum of 3 years working experience in wind energy
A minimum of 7 years experience as an electrical engineer
Experience managing consulting engineering firms
Willingness to relocate to Charlottesville

General Requirements
Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
Strong management and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple task simultaneously

Key Skills
Onshore wind projects experience, electrical engineering, wind farm construction, transmission line design, substation design
